We are glad to announce the release of the next version of our music collection software - Melomania 1.65. You can download this version from Melomania download page.

In this version we have implemented a possibility to load album covers from audio tags. Now album covers are loaded into albums automatically during the file scan process. Also we have added a possibility to discover the covers for albums that are already in the collection. In this case Melomania searches for covers in both of audio tags and album folders. In conclusion of the tag subject, we have added the update tags function to this version of Melomania. Now let's view all the changes step by step.

What's new in Melomania 1.65?

• We have added a possibility to load album covers from audio tags during the file scan process. Album covers are loaded automatically, and all information about picture size and format are displayed to the right of album titles in Media Scanner.
• The discover function allows you to load album cover instantly from album's folder or track tags. This function is available through the Discover... item in the picture context menu.
• We have added a possibility to update tags of audio files with music collection data. This function is available for current selection through the Tasks | Update Tags... popup menu item.
• The size of a picture appeared at the top information panel is changeable now. You can set the new size for a picture through the Size... item in the picture context menu. The size value for different kinds of pictures is changed independently.
• We have added an option for minimizing the application to the system tray area. You can switch this option on in the General group of the Options window (Tools | Options... | General). This option is off by default.
• The values of AMG rating and AMG pick are changeable now. Initially we supposed these values to be changed only by getting data from All Music Guide, but after all we decided that users can edit these values themselves.
• The notification check boxes are not scattered all over the Options window, but grouped accurately in the Notifications group now.
• We have changed the algorithm of showing the notification that the medium was scanned earlier. By default, such a notification appears for CD/DVD, but not for all types of media (except for HDD), as it was earlier.
• An attempt to load GIF file with JPG extension as an album cover caused an error. In this version the error appears only if the picture format is determined as really invalid.
• A filter didn't refresh its contents automatically after its conditions were changed and applied. Fixed.
• Fixed bug concerning disappearance of the Tasks popup menu items in Navigator.
• Several small improvements have been made and minor bugs have been fixed.
