After some delay, we are glad to announce the release of the next version of our music collection software - Melomania 1.6. You can download this version, as usual, from Melomania download page.

Taking an opportunity, we wish Happy New Year to all Melomania users. Reviewing the results of the outgoing year, we would like to thank all the people who supported us in our business and, especially, those of them who helped us to understand what users really want to see in Melomania. Even if we haven't implemented all suggestions last year (actually we have too many wishes to implement all of them quickly), but be sure that in 2007 we'll please you with a lot of new things. And that will not be only new Melomania features, but also the completely new programs.

What's new in Melomania 1.6?

• Melomania has been translated to five more languages: German, Danish, Spanish, Slovak, and Polish. You still may extend this list with your native language.
• We have moved a menu item for evoking the Copy Tracks wizard from the Send To submenu to the Tasks in all context menus. The same has been made for the export playlist function.
• The Enqueue in Winamp function appears in the Send To submenu now. Also this function can be performed for any item in a collection, not only for tracks.
• The Copy Tracks wizard allows you to specify a template for automatic file renaming during the copy process. This can be useful, for instance, when copying files with meaningless names, such as 01.mp3, 02.mp3, etc., from CD-ROM.
• Also the Copy Tracks wizard provides you with an option for updating informational tags of audio files. If this option is on, Melomania will update the following tag parameters of destination files: artist name, name and release year of an album, number and title of a song, genre. This option is available on the final step of the wizard.
• Besides copying tracks, Melomania allows you to move files from one local folder to another. The Move Tracks wizard provides you with the similar features the Copy Tracks wizard has.
• Amazon Covers window: we have added a drop-down menu to the Search button for a quick switching between regional Amazon websites .
• The file name entry in the Track Properties window and in the Details navigation group displays drive letter (if medium is accessible) or medium type (if it's inaccessible) now.
• The quick search entry doesn't lose focus, it remains active after choosing an item from its drop-down list. This improvement makes search for recently used items easier.
• We have implemented the support of proxy connection that requires a user authentication.
• When Basket contained a huge selection of tracks, the Details navigations group displayed a negative value instead of a real total file size. Fixed.
• In some cases, properties listed in the Details navigation group could not be edited properly. For instance, Boolean fields appeared as text entries with true/false values instead of check box. Fixed.
• Media Scanner did not reflect the changing of character case using the Edit menu on an artist. Now it does.
• There was no way to remove a multiple selection of tracks from Basket. Always only a single track was actually removed from the selection. Fixed.
• The results of HTML export did not appear correctly if the specified target path did not contain the trailing backslash ('\'). Now it's fixed.
• In some cases, Internet Finder hung up the program during downloading information about classical artist. Fixed.
• Filters that contained conditions by genre did not work correctly sometimes. Fixed.
• Media Scanner: an error occurred when user tried to save more than 1500 albums from the scan results at once. Fixed.
• Several small improvements have been made and minor bugs have been fixed.
