Communique (1979)Dire StraitsRock The second album from Dire Straits is excellent. A critic opinion about this album was uncomplimentary. They compared "Communique" with successful debut self-titled album and suppose that this work is not better than its predecessor. Led by guitarist/vocalist Mark Knopfler, group built their sound upon the laid-back blues-rock of J.J.Cale, but they also had jazz and country influences, occasionally dipping into the epic song structures of progressive rock. I've listened to this album with pleasure: all nine tracks are good. "Once Upon a Time In the West", "Communique" and "Lady Winter" are pleased me more than other ones. |
