Am I Not Your Girl? (1992)Sinead O'ConnorVocal The third Sinead's album is different from two previous her works. What will you hear on this album? Mix some grandiose orchestration with sultry but so soothing vocal, add some longing, heartbreak and persistent hope, spice it with seducing charm, and you will get "Am I Not Your Girl?". This album contains 12 songs, which were performed by different artist in different times: "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" (Joan Baez, Donna Summer), "I Want to Be Loved by You" (Marilyn Monroe), and others. Sinead conveys an exquisite blend of emotions with her better "breathy" voice from the childish joy in "Secret Love" to the sweet melancholy in "Gloomy Sunday". I very like this album and I want to recommend it to everybody who likes excellent vocal in combination with jazz influenced arrangements. |
