Operation: Mindcrime (1988)QueensrycheProgressive Metal "Operation: Mindcrime" is classics of progressive metal, an outstanding album, which became a great break-through of Queensryche in 1988. However, regardless of the fact that the album is quite successful, it didn't touch me deeply. The first reason of that is the sound of the '80s, which I don't like too much. I'm not an Iron Maiden fan, but this album slightly reminds me of them. The second reason is that progressive metal has moved far ahead since 1988, so this album sounds not as rich today as it could at that time. However, if you are interested in prog metal, you absolutely should listen to this album. |
