"Lifes Rich Pageant" is probably the best R.E.M.'s album. This work is different from all previous their albums: it demonstrates that R.E.M.'s sound becomes harder. The album starts with "Begin the Begin", one of the R.E.M.'s heaviest songs. This track lets you know exactly what you are going to hear during the next forty minutes. Really, all the tracks from this album are quite rocking with usual jingle-jangle feeling of the early years. "Begin the Begin", "The Flowers of Guatemala", "I Believe", and "Swan Swan H" are my favorite tracks. It doesn't mean that I don't like other tracks, but I just really like the foregoing songs.
