The Sky Moves Sideways [Remastered] (2004)Porcupine TreeRock This album is a remastered 2 CD edition of the original "The Sky Moves Sideways" album released in 1995, when Porcupine Tree was a young project of Steven Wilson, and not many people outside London ever heard of it. Those days Steven was a true experimentalist who often tried to merge electronic influences of The Future Sound of London with psychedelic soloing guitar of the '70s. Such kind of music is represented on this album with the title track "The Sky Moves Sideways Phase 1", where guitar and flute solos interlace with pronounced techno sound (alternate version contains also a female vocal). As a whole, this is a great album, which, however, may be found disappointing by fans of late Steven's works. |
