Keeper of the Seven Keys (1987)HelloweenRock This is a greatest album of the power metal band from Germany. Helloween specializes in blistering melodic heavy metal with a strong gothic orientation. Their music influenced by Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. "Keeper of the Seven Keys" is the classical work of the power metal: very fast drumming, melodic and technical riffs with fabulous twin-guitar solos by Kai Hansen and Michael Weikath, and, of course, magnificent vocal of 18 years old Michael Kiske. My favorite track is the long (over 13 minutes) epic song "Halloween". All other tracks are also very good, but I think that "Halloween" mirrors the spirit of this album completely. |
