Let It Be (1970)Beatles, TheRock This is the last album of the greatest Beatles. Critics reproach it with sloppy in conception and, sometimes, in playing. The main problem was that the material wasn't uniformly strong, and the Beatles themselves were in fairly lousy moods due to intergroup tension. Anyway, I think that "Let It Be" is an excellent album. "Across The Universe", "I Me Mine" and "Let It Be" are my favorite tracks of all time. Album collection is not complete without "Let It Be". | |
The Best of The Art of Noise (1997)Art of Noise, TheRock The Art of Noise trio are the great experimentalists. They mix simple, minimalistic electronic effects with vocal and mighty (sometimes, almost classical) sounds. All genres are put in mixer, intermingled, and served up. Bon appetit! | |
Autobahn (1996)KraftwerkElectronica In my opinion, this is the best album by Kraftwerk. I especially like track "Autobahn" - it's 22 minutes of sincere pleasure of highway. This wonderful "Fun, Fun, Fun". Joyfully, strikingly, sincerely. This is the classics of electronica genre. So put the key into ignition lock, turn it, pedal and go: "Fun, Fun, Fun". | |
In Absentia (2002)Porcupine TreeProgressive Rock "In Absentia" is one more masterpiece created by British prog rock band Porcupine Tree. Sincere performance without a shade of affectation and theatricality; thought-out arrangements, simple and rich at a time; entrancing vocal adding special aura to music - all of these impressed me the way I never experienced before. This is one of the best musical work I listened to in the rest of my life. Listen to it necessarily! | |
The Maze (1999)Vinnie MooreInstrumental Rock Personally I don't like shred guitarists too much. I respect them, but actually I don't listen to their albums often, because such guitarists as Vai, Satriani, and Malmsteen are usually concentrating on their techniques of playing, not on music as such. Vinnie Moore is an exception of this rule, and "The Maze" combines amazing melodies with excellent performance. I listened to this album with really great pleasure. | |
The Dark Side Of The Moon (1973)Pink FloydRock This is the best-known Pink Floyd's work and a good place to start if you are new to the band. Pink Floyd created a suite of songs united by themes of madness, ageing, and death. David Gilmour's guitar passages, Roger Water's lyrics and sound effects (especially, on Money) make an atmosphere sound, which takes your mind away from reality. "Money", "Time", and "Us And Them" are the greatest tracks from this album. Highly recommended. | |
