Pacifique (2000)Deep ForestElectronica Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez present us a wonderful album full of ethnic musical spitits of Caribbean Islands. The music of nature and relaxing rhythms are a trademark sound of Deep Forest, which is represented on this album as a sound of the ocean on a title composition "Pacifique" and a calmness of the village on "Night Village". Dynamic and dark "La revolte", which is full of Jean Michelle Jarre-styled electronica, smoothly turns into melodic and calm "Le baiser". This album harmoniously combines live sounds with electronic compositions saturated with spirits of paradise islands. For instance, "Ouverture Huahine" is almost a true trip-hop. If you knew Deep Forest as a band performing only relaxing ethnic music, this album would be a pleasant surprise for you. |
