Salisbury (1971)Uriah HeepRock Uriah Heep is one of the best bands of the '70s. Their second album is a blend of heavy metal and progressive rock. Highlights of this album include three songs: "Bird of Prey", "The Park" and "Lady in Black". "Bird of Prey" is an excellent rock composition with incredible guitar riffs of Mick Box and wonderful Ian Gillan-styled vocal of David Byron. "The Park" is a melodious progressive ballad. There are no masterly guitar passages or power drums on it, just David Byron's voice, Ken Hensley's organ, an acoustic guitar and a beautiful melody. "Lady in Black" is a classic song of Uriah Heep, which has only two chords in it, but it sounds splendidly. Highly recommended. |
