Elements of Persuasion (2005)James LaBrieProgressive Metal I think Dream Theater are very lucky guys as long as one day they've met such a great singer as James LaBrie and invited him into the band. Since then Dream Theater have been performing their songs with an original, expressive and beautiful voice, and I consider this as the major reason of why I like this band so much. "Elements of Persuasion" is not the first James' solo work, but this is my first acquaintance with his solo career. Well, this album is not bad, but anyway I slightly dissapointed with it. Probably this happened because I expected something similar to Dream Theater from this album, but this music has not much in common with the recent DT's work. The sound of the album is heavy and sometimes meaningless, with some numetal elements, so I can't call this music too progressive. I wish James and other Dream Theater members to work together and make better music, and I'm waiting for the next DT's album impatiently. |
