Nick Cave has been writing songs about killing and other evil things since 1980, when he participated in Birthday Party. Some people compare his vocal style with vocal style of Jim Morrison. Murder Ballads is a fascinating conceptual album. "Stagger Lee" and "Henry Lee" are narrative ballad form of the English folk tradition. "Where The Wild Roses Grow" is a narrative duet in which a killer (Nick Cave) and a victim (Kylie Minogue) reveal their tales. All tracks from this album are great. Recommended for listening.
