Ascension (2001)Djam KaretProgressive Rock Regardless to the fact that Djam Karet is not widely-known name on the present-day rock scene, this California-based band is considered as one of the most outstanding America's progressive rock phenomenon of the '80-90s. Originally formed as a band that performed live improvisations, these devoted followers of instrumental genre have discovered their own music style, which is hard to specify with a simple combination of the existing ones. The music of Djam Karet is distinguished by overdriven, psychedelic-influenced guitar soloing performed with outstanding heroism and high mastery. "Ascension" is a limited edition of band self-released CD, which is not distributed widely, but this is the first Djam Karet's album I have listened to and I found it very good. |
